Spike Aerospace is seeking experienced aircraft design engineers to assist in the preliminary design, development, analysis, and modification of aircraft designs.  They will be working with other engineering groups to optimize and test design concepts. These individuals will be working on the Spike S-512 Quiet Supersonic Jet along with our senior aircraft design team.

Responsibilities

  • Understand aircraft design, performance requirements, and safety considerations
  • Develop, enhance, analyze, and improve designs to support engineering requirements
  • Assists with tests to validate and verify that systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  • Support the development, structural analysis, structural design, aeronautical design and/or documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment
  • Support team in performing spatial integration at system or component level and modification of mechanisms / landing gear
  • Assist in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems
  • Assist in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts
  • Work with senior engineering team in support of aircraft development

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in a similar role providing CAD design and analysis on business jets
  • Siemens NX, SolidWorks, CATIA or similar CAD experience
  • Concept, preliminary and detailed design experience
  • Full-life cycle design experience is a plus
  • Detailed-oriented qualities are a must
